University of Phoenix

University of Phoenix, was not for me. I love school if you have read my hubs chances are you know I need school my writing is a bit rough. Maybe it's the different languages, maybe my dixlexia, maybe that I am legally blind (I see 20/200). Motive is I want to be a teacher not just a head start teacher but a teacher for elementary school age kids, I want to write stories, illustrate my own books, and enjoy a relaxing life ( i don't take issues too seriously stay away from stress). In May 2007 I received a phone call from a survey i did about wanting to go back to school Luis king Pena called me up and lay-ed out the perfect plan. I almost didn't do it, then a girl calls me up and says hey there is not degree that will take just a year, if you are serious about becoming a teacher then you have to work.

Wow what a bitch next week i was signing up, she was absolulty right I was at home running a mock but had no real education, yes I did my CDA, CPR every two years HRS (now children and family) workshops but I had no real education. I wanted to be (and still do) a college graduate. I am far from done the shit has hit the fan I have failed a class made three D's and I am not doing peachy in my last class. This is a lot of work, not easy you will have to write, read, and study for hours.

Organization is a biggie, if you are not organized, if you don't put time aside for your school don't even start.

A big issue get the biggest and the best book on writing for college ( I am just getting mine now issues for mot doing so hot but you probably knew that) everything is APA format, get microsoft student and download River point. This software is available for free through the university of phoenix library it is a great way to format your papers into APA format.

Now another thing they have tutorials and workshops atten take all the tutorials you will nedd them and they help. In the end before attending online college map out your goals, make a schedule, and have a helper a husband that does cleaning and cooking, children that are not babies or toddlers at least school age. I am in class with baby moms but they have grandmothers that help if you are alone good luck.

Is it all worth it? Definitely of course I could have kept on running a mock, gave up, or stopped everything all together but this will lead me to greater endeavours and to being the teacher i want to be. So hang on tight take deep breaths (yoga works wonders) and just do it. If you don't do it today then when, that's what I saw. Good luck to all future students.
